Modern Warfare 3, or to use its correct title – Modern Warfare 2.5, continues where the last game (MW2) left off, and I don’t just mean the story mode either.
The single player… well it follows the same frustrating-as-hell-but-sometimes-breathtaking rigidity that every other game in the franchise has followed, you follow a path, stop and take cover, shoot the endless enemies before moving the required extra 2″ to the left to trigger the next scripted sequence. Cast your mind back to the days when PC games came in huge cardboard boxes, there was outrage when the industry suggested they packaged their games in a DVD case but they won us over with the argument: “But hey, its going to cost less to produce so you will get the games cheaper!”

Fast forward to the digital age, Steam, love it or hate it is a successful platform, they offer reasonably good deals, semi-competitive pricing, incentives to pre-order and the software isn’t a complete hash together.  The argument to move to digital distribution is the same that we faced all those years ago. One of the main reasons for having a console is because you are too scared of competitive players on the PC is due to having friends round (Sorry Stevie, that’s you fucked) and playing a few games together, of which, sports games are often a great selection, and of which, Football reigns supreme in a lot of households.  Trying to explain the rules of American Football, or Ice Hockey, are often resulted with blank looks and comments like “Which button starts the fights?” And in the football camp, there are two games, the money backed FIFA, and the “used-to-be-the-game-people-played-because-it-was-so-much-better-despite-having-no-licences-but-recently-dissapointing-in-comparison-to-that-magic-feeling-back-in-the-day” Pro Evolution Soccer.

Minecraft. fml.

Last night Yesterday afternoon, GRIMM and myself attempted to play some Minecraft again, we set up the server and just thought “yeah, just a quick blast”  so off we went, mining some stuff, building a house, avoiding those exploding dudes who are determined to fuck you and your shit up and not forgetting putting out the fires in the house that were started by Grimm attempting to clear the trees from outside..

and then.. what the fuck, its 9:30pm.

This game should come with a health warning.  We have a multiplayer server set up, grab us on TS3 for the details!
